THE COLLABORATION
Artist Edition #7 continued the wearable art collaboration between Sittingsuits and British-Turkish artist Özlem Thompson. TREE OF LIFE developed from Thompson’s reading of Hermann Hesse’s Narcissus and Goldmund, where opposing forces, personal transformation and the search for meaning shape the story.
The edition brings those ideas into a functional form, allowing an artwork about life and connection to move through the world with the person wearing it.
THE ARTIST
Özlem Thompson’s artistic foundation is shaped by both science and intuition. Before dedicating herself fully to painting, she studied biology and botany. Organic structures, natural symbolism and imagined ecosystems continue to inform her visual language.
Her work brings bold colour together with abstracted forms, creating spaces where nature and fantasy can coexist.
THE ARTWORK
TREE OF LIFE explores existence as a flow of connected and opposing energies. Organic forms move across the Sittingsuit surface, bringing together ideas of growth, balance and transformation.
Artist Edition #7 was produced as a limited edition of 200 pieces.
