Sittingsuits was born out of a passion for providing a sustainable and comfortable solution to keep people warm in outdoor settings. Our co-founders, Rebecca Johansen and Vibe Johansson, joined forces to create a unique and innovative product that caters to the needs of various industries and helps businesses unlock the full potential of their outdoor spaces.
Rebecca Johansen, an experienced restaurateur and owner of Axelhus & Axelbar in Elsinore, Denmark, has spent over 16 years catering to her guests in all types of weather. With 450 outdoor seatings combined, she found herself in search of an alternative to blankets and outdoor heating to keep her guests warm and comfortable.
On a skiing trip to France, Rebecca noticed people willing to spend hours outdoors in cold temperatures as long as they felt cozy and warm. Inspired by this observation, she decided to create a product that would not only benefit her own businesses but solve a common problem across the entire industry.
Designer Vibe Johansson shared Rebecca's vision of creating sustainable and comfortable outerwear. Together, they developed the Sittingsuits concept, carefully testing and refining the design to ensure maximum warmth, comfort, and durability. The duo launched Sittingsuits in Rebecca's own restaurants in 2019 and soon expanded to cater to a wider audience.
